Myric Polhemus graduated from Texas State in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He began his career at HEB in 1991 as an hourly Partner in Carryout at one of the stores. After attending HEB’s School of Retail Leadership from 1998 to 2000, which included a rotation as an Assistant Store Director, Mr. Polhemus became a store Unit Director in General Merchandise. In 2008, he became a Director of Retail Operations for the Central Texas Region, and since 2011 he has served as the Human Resource Director for the San Antonio/West Region of HEB, that includes three areas extending from Lytle to West Texas and includes Fredericksburg and Kerrville in the Hill Country, for a total of 59 stores.
Mr. Polhemus has received HEB’s Champion of Diversity Award and People Development Award. He has been nominated for HEB’s Hal Collett Great People Award and was a finalist for the company’s Harvey Mabry Excellence in Management Award before winning the award in each of the following two years. He was a finalist in the Administrative Area and a winner in the Central Texas Region of HEB’s Bob Brandt Leadership Award.
