Kelly Frels Lifetime Achievement Award Named for Inaugural Recipient
Kelly Frels, 2011 College of Liberal Arts Distinguished Alumni Achievement recipient, was honored recently by the School Law Section of the State Bar of Texas as inaugural recipient of the Kelly Frels Lifetime Achievement Award. The award marks the first time that the School Law Section has given a lifetime achievement award, and all lifetime achievement awards given by the section in the future will bear Frels’ name.
Frels has worked as an attorney for public and private schools, community colleges, universities and other public bodies for more than 40 years. He served as President of the State Bar of Texas from 2004 to 2005.
Liberal Arts Dean Michael Hennessy said, "I'm delighted to learn that Mr. Frels has received this well deserved recognition from his peers. Few professionals are held in such high esteem by colleagues that they not only win a lifetime achievement award but also have the award named in their honor."
