"Unplugged 8" to feature top-name Texas Musicians April 8

February 2008—The eighth annual Texas Music History Unplugged concert, scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, will feature performances and discussion by several well-known Texas musicians – Eliza Gilkyson, W.C. Clark, Joel Guzman, Brigitte London, Stoney LaRue, Billy Curtis, and Lara Albrecht. The concert, to be held in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom on the Texas State University-San Marcos campus, is free and open to the public.

The popular concert series, sponsored since 2000 by the Center for Texas Music History in the Department of History, brings prominent Texas musicians to campus to perform and discuss how Texas music history reflects the historical and cultural evolution of the Southwest. Previous concerts have featured composers and performers of a wide variety of Texas music.

More information is available by contacting Deirdre Lannon, Center for Texas Music History, dl24@txstate.edu, (512) 245-2185.
