Club introduces students to Middle Eastern Culture

 Middle Eastern mapApril 2008—The newly formed Middle East Culture Club (MECC) is open to any Texas State student interested in learning more about the Middle East. 

The club's focus is on the Arab speaking countries (the Levantine: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and the Palestinian territory), the Gulf countries (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Yemen and Iraq), and the north African countries (Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Sudan, Somalia, Comoros, Mauritania).

In the first week of Fall 2008, the MECC will organize a festival of Middle Eastern food and entertainment, to introduce students to the club and to each other. The time and the place will be announced soon.
