Additional Degree Requirements

  • All Liberal Arts majors are required to have a minor (see Liberal Arts Minors)
  • BA English Literature Requirement
    • One additional semester of sophomore English literature (3 hours in addition to core curriculum requirement, totaling 6 hours) to be selected from 2310, 2320, 2340, 2359, 2360
  • BA Science Requirement
    • One course (3-4 hours) must be taken from the following departments:
      • Anthropology - ANTH 2414 only
      • Geography - GEO 2410 only
      • Philosophy - PHIL 2330 only
      • Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics
  • BS Additional English Requirement
    • May take ENG 3303 (Technical Writing) in lieu of the sophomore literature requirement
  • Modern Language (8-14 hours)
    • Certain degrees have different Modern Language requirements
    • Bachelor of Arts Degree
      • Modern Language 2310 and 2320
      • Most students will complete 1410 and 1420 before attempting 2310
    • Bachelor of Science
      • Modern Language 1410 and 1420 in college
    • If a student successfully completes 2 years of the same language in high school, no college language is required if student pursues either of the following degrees:
      • BS - Geography
      • BPA - Public Administration
