Dr. Bousman received his degree in Anthropology from Southern Methodist University and holds the rank of associate professor. From 2000 to 2009, he served as Director of the Center for Archaeological Studies at Texas State, and he now serves as Curator of Texas State’s Archaeological Curation Facility. His research and teaching have focused on Texas archaeology and prehistoric settlements in South Africa. As principal investigator (PI) or co-PI, he has been awarded more than 150 research grants and contracts worth over $7.2 million. In recognition of his remarkable record of scholarship, Dr. Bousman received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Scholarly/Creative Activity in 2006. As Associate Dean, Dr. Bousman will assist faculty in developing grant proposals, provide assistance with post-award activities, and help locate resources to support faculty research.
