Kathy Scott joined the Dean's staff in 2001. As Senior Administrative Assistant, Ms. Scott is responsible for operations in the Dean's front office, directing questions from students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to the appropriate place. Ms. Scott is also responsible for coordinating the Dean's appointments and keeping her calendar. She assists the Dean in keeping the College's calendar for faculty tenure and promotion, and she directs Liberal Arts scholarship applications to the appropriate departmental chairs and committee members for action. Ms. Scott assists Associate Dean Dr. Nancy J. Grayson with academic suspension cases, and she is the person who students contact with requests for administrative review of grades.

Prior to joining the Dean's staff, Ms. Scott graduated from Texas State in 1979 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She worked previously as the department secretary for the Texas State University-San Marcos Department of Technology and as senior grant secretary for Dr. Ann Marie Ellis in the Department of Sociology before Dr. Ellis joined the Dean's staff. At the conclusion of the grant, Ms. Scott assisted her husband in setting up a local dental practice and managed the office for six years.
