As Associate Dean of Liberal Arts, Dr. Lochman works with academic planning; curricular, fiscal and faculty issues; and special projects. He also coordinates the workflow to and from the nine departments and three centers housed in the College. Dr. Lochman earned his PhD in English from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Since arriving at Texas State University in 1982, he has implemented and directed the departmental writing center, directed Graduate Studies in English and the English graduate program in literature. He teaches courses in late medieval and early modern British literature, pastoral and romance genres, an Honors course on world culture, and composition. His publications include articles on the writings of John Colet, Desiderius Erasmus, Edmund Spenser, and John Milton. He has received awards for advising and service from the Honors program and College of Liberal Arts at Texas State.
