Student Profile:
Ingrid Marrero
Ingrid Marrero interned with the FBI San Antonio Field Office in Summer 2008. About her internship, she said,
"This internship has given me a great opportunity to learn what it would be like if I were to become a special agent with the FBI. Some of the nicest and funniest people I have ever met are part of the FBI. I walk out to the parking garage with the satisfaction of knowing that my work as an intern helped a case move forward. It is nice to know that I will be back again the next morning and never know what to expect. I truly hope that the path to my future leads to the FBI doorstep. At this point, I would not want it to lead anywhere else."
Student Profile:
Shelby Stewart
In summer 2008, Shelby Steward taught archaic paint-making in Mexico with the Shumla School. About her internship, she said,
"When I was in Mexico, I stayed in a little red house . . . There were many mornings I would sit out on the porch and wonder how it was I attained such a remarkable internship. I was able to participate in legitimate archeological research, and was taught the process of how to begin my own scholarly research project. In addition, I was grateful for the opportunity to teach children of a different culture."
