Editing the Professional Publication: ENG 5312

Graduate students who sign up for English 5312, “Editing the Professional Publication,” meet as a class on the Texas State University-San Marcos campus for workshops on InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. They are assigned jobs (book placement, book review edition, fiction manager, poetry manager, website manager, et.) that relate to the publications of the
Center for the Study of the Southwest—
Texas Books in Review and
Southwestern American Literature. Students are required to complete various projects during the semester using the desktop publishing programs they study. The course is open to students in all of the English graduate programs (MFA in Creative Writing, MA in Technical Communication, MA in Literature and MA in Rhetoric and Composition).
