Master of Arts in Political Science Internship—POSI 5370

POSI 5370 awards 3 hours of credit to master's degree students who work in an internship and write a research paper.  Students  are responsible for finding an internship opportunity and discussing its relationship to the discipline of Political Science with the internship coordinator, Dr. Cecilia Castillo.  Students are evaluated by their supervisors on their performance in the internship. They also meet periodically with the Dr. Castillo and maintain a calendar of the activities they perform. Students have held internships in the Texas Legislature (in the offices of representatives and senators), the Texas Governor's Office, the Health and Human Services Commission, and non-profit agencies (primarily during the Legislative session).
