Evaluation of Dean, Chairs, and Faculty
Each year Texas State University’s Faculty Senate conducts a Faculty Perception Survey of key administrative officers, including deans and chairs. All faculty are requested to complete the online evaluation form. Faculty may review results here.
Each year, the Provost reviews the Dean, and the Dean reviews Liberal Arts chairs and directors of interdisciplinary centers.
Evaluation of Faculty in the College of Liberal Arts
All faculty in Liberal Arts (tenured, tenure-track, senior and junior lecturers, full- and part-time adjuncts) complete an annual report of activities during the prior calendar year (January through December) on the College’s Faculty Annual Reporting System, an online, web-based system that allows each faculty member to report activities and to undergo reveiew and comment by departmental personnel committees, chairs, and the Dean. Faculty may add comments following their initial reviews.
The FARS website provides instructions necessary to complete all sections of the online form and offers sample formats. The Dean’s office downloads selected categories from the website to compile the annual Liberal Arts Faculty Bibliography.
Each department in the College has recorded policies and procedures to guide evaluation of the information faculty members report; these policies are available for review at the office of the College of Liberal Arts as well as in home departments.
