1. Data entry for Tk20 (faculty CVs):
Dean Hennessy distributed and discussed information related to the ongoing installation of the Tk20 ePortfolio system, including the timeline for implementation and plans for data entry. Chairs are asked to alert departmental admins who may be asked to enter faculty CV data and to attend training sessions. Monetary awards will be provided for these duties. Council members were also briefed on the mark-up guidelines that faculty will use when they submit their CVs to staff members for electronic entry.
2. Staff equity:
Dean Hennessy distributed information regarding allotments for pay adjustments for staff. Council members discussed how best to distribute the available funds, and agreed that funding would be divided proportionately among departments. Chairs are asked to send the dean a list of eligible staff members along with their job titles and current salaries.
Around the table:
Nancy Grayson will send out calls for College scholarship committee membership during the fall semester.
Susan Day conveyed her positive impressions of this summer’s family receptions and recommended that LA representatives carry business cards to distribute.
Phil Suckling announced that the 2013 Grosvenor Distinguished Lecturer will be Malawi President Joyce Banda.
Dean Hennessy noted that Geography was cited at a recent CAD meeting as a stellar model for conducting alumni relations. Sociology was also recognized for the department’s efforts in bringing together scholarship donors with student recipients. Council members reaffirmed the importance of appropriately recognizing donations of all sizes.
