Library check-out policy
A recent change to the library book borrowing policy allows faculty members to check out a book for 182 days with 3 renewals (http://www.library.txstate.edu/about/departments/circ/borrowing-policy.html). Modern Language faculty members object to this new policy and their representative will ask the Library Committee for a rationale. The request may be made to the Faculty Senate as well.
Library allocation formulas
Some LA departments fear they will be hurt by the new library formula. More information will be sought by the Council of Chairs to examine the consequences of the new policy.
Dean Hennessy gathered ideas from COLA chairs and directors about a potential curriculum proposal.
